Gentle Neuromeningeal Manipulation

Neuromeningeal manipulation is a gentle manual therapy specific to treating nerves following the principles of mobility and function. For optimal function, nerves must be able to slide and glide freely within the surrounding tissues. This applies to the neural tissue around the brain, cranial nerve, spinal cord and peripheral nervous system.

Shannon at Shannon McLean Physical Therapy provides efficient and effective neuromeningeal manipulation treatments. Her neuromeningeal manipulation treatment can aid your body in recovery from a number of afflictions, including:

  • Headache
  • Anxiety and stress-related pain syndromes
  • Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction (TMJ)
  • Peripheral nerve entrapment (carpal tunnel, ulnar neuropathy, brachial plexus disorders)
  • Sciatica
  • Post-surgical nerve symptoms
  • Neck pain and whiplash

Shannon is a great PT, specializing in athlete-related treatment. She has worked me back to race-ready health many times. An example: I had pulled a hamstring last January after running the PF Chang's marathon. I needed treatment to be able to participate in the upcoming PHX marathon. Shannon performed her treatments, including dry needling, and I not only was able to participate, but ran a Boston-qualifying time.
